At Lisa’s Dance and Exercise, everything centers on shared movement that brings families closer. We’re not here to rush you through drills or check boxes. Our focus is on creating meaningful moments through rhythm, proper technique, and the kind of instruction that makes every parent and child feel confident on the floor.
Salsa brings parent and child together on the dance floor through structured footwork, easy-to-follow patterns, and music that keeps everyone moving. Each session introduces basic steps, weight transfer, and timing in a relaxed setting where laughter and learning happen side by side. You’ll notice improved coordination, confidence, and connection as both of you grow more comfortable with the rhythm.
We evaluate your comfort level, explain the basic clave pattern, and introduce foundational salsa footwork.
You learn weight transfer, timing, and partner connection through hands-on instruction and live music.
We review your progress, refine turns and styling, and ensure smooth execution across the floor.
Salsa footwork builds balance and timing while teaching your body to respond naturally to rhythm.
Partner work teaches communication and trust, making social dance events more enjoyable and relaxed.
Each class raises your heart rate while you learn turns and movement patterns.
Controlled movement and weight transfer improve posture and spatial awareness on the floor.
Focus on music and movement offers a mental break from daily responsibilities.
Basic salsa technique transfers easily to other partner dance styles like bachata and cha-cha.
Salsa instruction starts with proper foot placement, weight transfer, and timing to match the music’s clave pattern. We guide beginners through foundational steps before layering in turns and partner connection. Each class session balances demonstration, repetition, and correction so students build confidence without feeling rushed. Clear instruction and patient practice create dancers who move comfortably on the floor and enjoy the social side of salsa.
We break down every salsa pattern into manageable steps so beginners feel confident from day one.
Trained professionals guide each class, ensuring correct timing and technique in every move.
Small groups create a friendly atmosphere where students learn without pressure.
Students receive clear feedback on their footwork, rhythm, and partner connection throughout the session.
On1 breaks on the first beat, while On2 starts on the second. Both styles teach the same core movements and partner work, just with different timing.
Most students pick up the basic step and simple turns in three to four weeks. Consistent practice twice a week helps you feel comfortable on the floor faster.
No partner required. You’ll rotate with classmates during lessons, so everyone gets practice leading and following. Singles are always welcome.
Comfortable clothes you can move in and shoes with smooth soles work best. Avoid sneakers with rubber grip, which can catch during turns.
Drop-ins are welcome, but advance registration helps us keep class sizes manageable. Call ahead if you plan to attend your first session.
